UK MINISTER FOR AFRICA VISISTS FPAM

UK Minister for Africa Vicky Ford MP on 7 April 2022 visited Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM) clinic in Kawale to among others, appreciate how the United Kingdom (UK) is supporting access to Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services in Malawi.

The UK has been supporting FPAM through WISH 2 ACTION project whose goal is to provide access to modern contraceptive methods to the undeserved in hard-to-reach areas.

She applauded FPAM for providing SRH services to people including reaching out to people with disabilities with such services.

The UK minister was accompanied by Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda.

FPAM clinics provide family planning services and general medical services.

The WISH 2 Action project which FPAM has been implementing over the past 3 years came to an end on 31 March 2022. The project supported service delivery interventions in Kasungu and Lilongwe.

FPAM Executive Director Donald Makwakwa told the delegation that the project enabled people in hard-to-reach areas to have access to SRH services. He indicated that even though the project has come to an end, there is still a need to reach out to people with SRH services.
